The further training centre of the North Rhine-Westphalian interior ministry has been erected on the site of the former Mont Cenis colliery in Herne Sodingen. The formerly desolate site is now characterised by a futuristic structure and extensive park area. The building boasts a novel energy-saving climate covering and is almost exclusively supplied via solar power.
